About Lisa Casson
The boring exciting details of my webby life
I was born and bred in Northern Joburg and will probably live here forever. Being the only artistic person in my family and the only one who could turn on a computer, I knew I was destined for computer graphics in high school. I studied Graphic Design and got my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008, all the while teaching myself web design and coding in my spare time.
When I got to third year graphic design, I realised I did not want to be a Graphic Designer at all, but rather a Web Designer… Luckily, my course taught me the programs I needed for Web Design as well, such as Photoshop and Illustrator. At the end of my course, I did an Internship for a small web firm and that is where I learnt the bulk of my web skills, as well as an introduction to my specialised skills in WordPress websites. I also met my husband here (a web designer at the time, who taught me all my basic skills as well as my SEO skills).
In the beginning of 2009, I joined another small web firm where I developed my design and web skills. On the side, I had my own freelance business going (Creative Addict) and this is where my talent in WordPress developed the most. My first project was my own website, and soon 99% of my clients were taking WordPress websites. While I worked here, my husband, now an SEO specialist, started his own business (SEO Cowboy) working from home. My dream was to start our own web company together so I too could work from home doing what I love.
In April 2011, my dream came true and my husband and I started our own (tiny) media company, Casson Media. We take pride in creating websites that are beautiful inside and out, and are SEO-friendly. We have kept our competitive rates and our quality of work, and I can honestly say that my husband is one of the best SEO guys in Joburg.
You can find me on Google+.
I kept this blog as a more personal side to myself and a place to share what I have learnt. If you want to see an even more personal, and less updated blog with wedding pictures and stuff, check out www.bryanandlisa.co.za.
In a nutshell, I am an avid designer, I love what I do and take pride in doing the best job possible whether the job is big or small.
